Cedar Picket Window Box

When we bought our small house, I knew immediately that the window in the front needed a window box to break up all the white and add some color in all the different seasons. After getting the windows replaced (I love the black) I knew it was time! We had some cedar pickets left over from our fence build…OK, they weren’t left over and I grabbed a few while my husband was at work. But I digress, the pickets were THERE, and the perfect size! We bought panels, not pickets so I had to knock a few off, and get the nails out, but I was able to reuse the nails when putting them together. I love re-using items and not having any waste! Probably needs to be said these are the good ceda pickets, not the really thin ones. They are 6 inches wide and 1 inch thick.

The project took me a few hours, but may not take you that long, as I am VERY careful with the chopsaw. I am not very aware of my surroundings so have to slow way down when using something that could really hurt me!
